Thyrien is a Metal band from little town Kerava, Finland about 30km to North from the capital Helsinki. Band was founded at 2005 by Oskari Koivisto and Jere Sjögren. This is the story behind the band:
Once upon a time at year 2005 there were two drunken wanderers on their way back to home. It was just a normal evening for Oskari Koivisto and Jere Sjögren, once again happily drunk. When suddenly idea were popped out "We should found a band". It was quite a realistic idea because earlier Oskaris father Harri "Rytmi" Koivisto forced Jere to buy bass guitar and Oskari were already skillfull guitarist and singer. So they were only missing another guitarist, drummer and someone for synthesizer. It wasn't long when all the places were occupied with friends but it didn't start well. Band suffered lack of a motivation. After a while there were hard decisions to be made. So Oskari and Jere broke the band. They continued working with the band and tried to find new members. It wasn't long when Oskari and Jere tried to play with their old friends Valtteri and Sakari Martikainen. These two were a lot more experienced musicians than Jere and Oskari. Valtteri was really skillfull guitarist and Sakke was really good in battery. After a month of training the decision was clear as crystal. The Martikainen brothers would be new permanent members of the band. After this Oskari invented a name for the band. For now on the band is called Thyrien. Now only keys were unoccupied and luckily help was close. One of our local bands lend their synth player Kimmo Sinkkonen. He played session keys in Thyrien but further on he was to be a permanent member of Thyrien. Now a days Thyrien is trying to make more tighter riffs than virgin pussy ;) Sadly there will be a brake of an year cause of the army service in Finland starting at January 2008. Thyrien will come back after shooting few enemies.
We have entered the year 2008 for seeking victory. Fuck the break! Eighth miracle has happened and we will record our debut album starting on 28th of January 2008. Album shall be known as Hymns of the Mortals - Songs from the North. Album will be released in the year of 2009 cause of our beloved army service. The almighty Kris Verwimp will be behind the cover art. We have also entered the new year with a unfortunate casualty. Thyrien and Kimmo won't continue marching with same path so now we will continue without a synth player. The Band would like to thank Kimmo for all the priceless moments that he have brought to us. Hopefully we will find some suitable retard to complete our lines once again. We will also continue touring so we will see you guys on gigs!
