The Ritual was born in 2002 by Marco Obice and Luca De Vito.

Started as a heavy/thrash project, between 2008 and 2009 many line up changes came with the entry of Luca Negro and Marco Pastorino (already in Secret Sphere and other bands). The band changes its own style to a new modern metalcore.

At the end of 2008, The Ritual went into the Authoma Studios, property of Federico Pennazzato (Secret Sphere, Sadist) to record a three pieces demo (with included italian versions of two songs).

Now the band record some new stuff to complete the first album at Authoma Studios with producer Federico Pennazzato (Sadist, Secret Sphere), who was able to capture the band's vision in a piece of work which goes way beyond their expectations. Along with his producing duties, Federico Pennazzato also mixed the album, which was then mastered by Simone Mularoni (DGM, Empyrios). The beautiful artwork was handled by Nerve Design (Threshold, Nile, Legion Of The Damned, Vision Divine) & the new music is violent, aggressive, but always focused on the metal-core field: melody to serve the song.
