Post-Millennial Fenno-Metal boom? (…) Forget about it!!! You ain't heard nothin' yet! THE BLACK LEAGUE are back to kick your ass again with their brand new album “Utopia A.D.” This time it's LESS METAL - YET HEAVIER: 60 minutes/13 tunes of Stone-Cold Chaos-Rock & Dead-Heavy Prog'n'Roll. Darwinism is not yet dead in the White Town of the North. This is The League at their strongest, tightest and downright fuckin' meanest. “Utopia A.D.” is an assortment of venomous tales of alienation in this makeshift s(t)inking world spat right in the proverbial face of mankind living at the peak of a millennial Utopia on the verge of crumbling down…

THE BLACK LEAGUE incorporates the know-how and experience of musicians renowned in such internationally acclaimed outfits as Sentenced, Impaled Nazarene, Terveet Kädet and Legenda. But fear not, The League is far from being a half-hearted and quickly penned combination of the aforementioned groups. Instead, they opt to offer you a bold and brutally honest blend of Rock and Metal delivered with the uncompromising attitude of crushing the conventions and clichés of the mainstream.

The line-up and basic framework of THE BLACK LEAGUE got shape during the formative years 1996-1998 after which they singed with SPINEFARM Records and released their debut album, “Ichor”, in early 2000. “Ichor” (Gr. “blood of the gods”) was a 13-track soundtrack for the tragicomedy of human existence in our modern reality, ranging from in-your-face rock metal groove to psychethereal aural dream experimentations. Lyrically it dealt with nihilo-cynical realism, idiographic psychodrama and arctic angst with a bitter taste of escapism and eschatology set a-drifting down the stream of consciousness… Truly an End-of-Time release for the “Brave New Era”! The follow-up for “Ichor” was the MCD “Doomsday Sun” whereby The Leaguesmen went pushing even further the boundaries of musical categories; a 6-track onslaught of adrenaline-fuelled and coffee-psyched Black'n'Blues Rock Metal!

With their new release, “Utopia A.D.”, the leaguesmen continue to lead the listener towards the path of enlightenment and ruin… In a way “Post-Millennial” is the definition for THE BLACK LEAGUE philosophy. Now they invite you on their crusade against the plastic world. Join now!
