Biografia : Staccato (ROU)

The story of Staccato band starts long before becoming Alex G. Mihai's project, it emerged precisely in 1988 in Vulcan, when Cojocaru Florea – drums gathered round him a group of highschool students consisting of Dan Prisca – guitar and Ovidiu – guitar, both winners of Cantarea Romaniei National Festival and Florin – bass. The newly formed group had a brief existence because of Ovidiu's early death and the other members went to college shortly after.

In 1990 – 1991 the band starts from scratch again providing a more modern sound. This formula included Cristi Gram - guitar (Phoenix), Dani Catinean – drums, Misu – bass, Dan Sarbu - guitar and Chelu – lead vocals. They played together until 1993 when Cristi Gram and Chelu left, becoming members of another local band, Fatum.

But in 2001 Alex reaffirms the band again. Under the great influence of the Swedish artist Yngwie Malmsteen, the group brings in a symphonic metal with a brand new lineup: Alex G. Mihai – lead vocals & guitar, Imi Varga – Bass, Sorin Fador – keyboards, Alex Gheorghe – guitar and Dibo Medre – drums.

After some time Alex Gheorghe leaves and his bandmates continue without him until 2005 when Alex G. Mihai moves to Timisoara. His change of residence implied a replacement of the other four with Paul Bologan – drums, Gaby Koncz – guitar, Sorin Prejban – bass and Dimitri Bodarev – keyboards.

In March 2006 Gaby Koncz decides to leave, Sorin Prejban and Dimitri Bodarev do the same in the following months. They are quickly replaced by Andrei Ionescu – bass, Vlad Toma – keyboards and a new lead vocals Kara. Gaby Koncz rejoins the current lineup afterwards.

Staccato defines their music style in a symphonic metal with extreme influences.
