Fall 2005, Sol Niger took shape thanks to the meeting of two hairy metalheads from Orthez, Chris behind drums, Rémi on guitar (ex Stormblast, Destropouillaves, current guitarist of NoSerBes) and François (ex LTFC) a not so common less hairy dude from Biarritz also on guitar. A common will to release their fury leads the noisy trio to write songs mixing thrash and death metal inspired by both old-school standards and new-school state of the art. Soon, the band recruits his bass player Sylvain (ex Meltem, LTFC, HumanCell, Stormblast), and finalizes the line-up with a good growler Steph (ex Scission, Akoufen). The band progressively crafts his set and starts playing on stage in south-west France early 2006. After some gigs, SolNiger records his first eponym demo at Hegoa studios. Breaking news! Due to professional obligations, Sylvain had to shorten his flamboyant haircut. Thankfully, his headbanging is still effective. Francois said he now feels less lonely.
