Silenize was formed in the small Wisconsin city of Eau Claire. Initially, the band included Chase Lingen as the frontman, Nate Carrie on lead guitar and backing vocals, Greg Brown behind the drums, and Josh Brown at the bass. Following issues within the band, Josh was replaced by bassist Seth Renz. Three months after Seth took over, the band entered the studio for the first time.

Chase's vocals blast forth with hard and driven emotion, frequently aided by lead guitarist Nate Carrie's harmonious backing vocals. The often swift, sweeping guitar riffs switch smoothly from melodic licks to heavy breakdowns, made even deeper by bassist Seth. All of this is brought together by even and skillful drumming by Greg Brown.
