Sacrist was founded in 1992, when frontman Peter for the first time took his fateful instrument and established band named Excavator. Official foundation but is linked to year 1993, when came guitarist Paul and bassguitarist Mario. Just both of them (Mario and Peter) are in Sacrist to the present days. First activities in czech underground are connect with year 1997, when arrived Vlad, who have played keyboards. In 1998 band for the first time went into recording studio, where rised debut five song demo CD named Eternal Darkness. Meanwhile at the beginning of 1997 another line up crisis takes in - two members have leaved the band. In band stayed three members: Peter - guitar , Mario - bass and Vlad - keys and drums programming. In 1999 Sacrist released demo CD Unholy Voices, it was great stuff, which is once again confirmed by many welcoming reviews from Czechia, but also from abroad. Follow promo CD Sacrilegious Obsession from year 2001. This stuff was first of all for labels. In 2001 band signed a contract with czech underground label Avalanche productions and in 2002 released their debut CD Symphonies of Ancient Empires. This CD obtained very positive reviews in of all existing zines and webzines. With a new stuff the band performs a lot of tours, festivals and for the first time tours also in foreign countries. In 2003 Vlad left the band, but same year arrived second guitarist Libor and finally "alive" drummer Mikulash (Virtual Anal), so after several years using automatic drummer the band can to use flash and blood drummer. In 2003 came to the band other man, Peter Malinak - keyboards (Rites of Undeath). This line-up did not stays a long. In 2004 left the band three members - Libor, Mikulash, Peter. It was personal earthquake third time. In 2005 arrived new drummer Alex. Happened Great thing. After five years came back Peter´s brother Pavel - second guitar (Oblomov). The band was complete. In 2007 band signed a contract with czech underground label Elysion and released second CD The Substance Of Illusion. This CD include 11 new dark tracks.
