Here comes something for all friends of real US Metal. PURGATORY was a US metal band, from which emerged in 1988 the legendary ICED EARTH. ICED EARTH's mastermind Jon Schaffer partnered with PURGATORY's original singer Gene Adam (who was also on ICED EARTH's debut album on the mic) in the spring of 2018 and Mark Prator (drums - aka ICED EARTH's "The Dark Saga" album), Jim Morris ( Guitar - producer and owner of the legendary Morrisound Studios) as well as Bill Owen (guitar - original member of the band) and bassist Ruben Draken (Demons & Wizards, Sons Of Liberty) teamed up to re-record five old PURGATORY songs in 1985 / 1986 were written.

The result: US Metal! Really horny US Metal in its most original form. Anyone who likes ICED EARTH or bands like OMEN or LIEGE LORD has to risk an ear here. In addition to the fantastic production of the five tracks (which Jon Schaffer himself is responsible for), which evokes the spirit of the grand 80s without ever sounding stale, it is the breathtaking vocal performance of Gene Adam that adds up to this gem of real US Metal makes an absolute compulsory purchase. The EP is available as a limited Digipak as well as a 12 "vinyl MLP with 4-sided insert and engraving on page B. The whole thing is rounded off with a chic artwork by David Newman Stump and Roy Young, which already refines ICED EARTH's current studio album" Incorruptible " Jon Farmer, Gene Adam, Greg Seymour (band original bassist) and Bill Owen, and to avoid confusion with bands of the same name, the "Purgatory EP" is being released under the name JON SCHAFFER'S PURGATORY the trade comes on December 21 via Century Media Records.
