Formed in 2008, Outgunned are a four-piece metal outfit emerging from Newport, South Wales. Armed with a hard-working attitude and fistfuls of ambition, the last few years have seen them grow to become an infamous and well-respected live band, helping to build on the South Wales scene.

From the release of their acclaimed ‘Through the Eyes of Despair EP’; through to line up changes and restructuring, the quartet continue to work increasingly hard to explore their love for heavy, honest music. Influences include a wide range of genres and styles, blending elements of thrash, groove, death, core and melody to create a diverse metal offering. Having shared countless stages alongside some of Wales’ finest up and coming bands, the band is becoming increasingly popular, beginning to gain some of the love and respect they feel their music deserves.

“It is however the EP’s lead track ‘Through The Eyes Of Despair’ that I keep returning to time and again, with its wind milling midsection and guttural scream for recognition that should soon see the lads tearing their way out of the local scene and onto national tour supports. Outgunned is, right now, a band full of confidence and great songs. March 2011 will see the band play their biggest show to date: Metal Hammer magazine’s prestigious ‘Hammerfest’ festival in Prestatyn, North Wales. This is an opportunity for the boys to play alongside some of their musical heroes, and prove themselves on home soil.
