Biografia : Nagrim

Formed in the godless north of Kiruna/Sweden during the Swedish fimbulwinter 2001, when Aldinach and Gothmog had played together in some quite unserious thrash/death bands since 2000. One night that time they sat down and discussed the band over a couple of beers, the topic was about starting to play more serious and more extreme metal. They both liked the idea of bringing more chaos to this world with some fresh and raw old-school black metal. A while after that Gothmog came up with the name from the islandic word 'nagrimaa' (pronounce with an long 'a', like naagrim) . Now they started to rehearse more seriously and some members came and went, but no one were willing to dedicate their lives entirely to the black metal or didn't fit in the band. So they were forced to go on as a two-man band with Aldinach handling the drums/vocals and Gothmog taking care of the guitars/bass part.

In the autumn 2002 they went to the local crap-studio - Midvinter Studios in Sweden for the recording of their very first demo: Twilight Slaughter. Containing songs they had rehearsed back in 2000, it became a very dark death/black metal piece with the typical dark growls and death-metalish riffs. Unfortunately the mixing went wrong because of an inexperienced black metal-producer. As said before they played some kind of death/black metal at first, but later NAGRIM developed their sound into pure primitive old-school black metal, that can be heard on the next demo planned to March/April 2003.

The new demo entitled Vinterlik got delayed to the beginning of June 2003 because of some problems with the studio and the mixing, but overall it went pretty smooth this time. While being in the recording-progress we found an insane bassist called Natt, he's not playing on 'Vinterlik' but he's been playing with us before Nagrim was born.Nagrim We're quite satisfied with this recording and it got fairly good reviews. Of course we aim for a contract with a good metal-label, so we can get our first grand piece of chaos printed. With our new bassist we can play live if we get a session drummer or vocalist. New songs are being spawned all the time and we're rehearsing regularly while the search continues...

November was the month when the Ecclesiophobia rehearsal got finished. Primitive old-school black metal of the toughest kind. Too bad the sound is weak as fuck.

Nagrim isn't offering traditional primitive black metal, both musically and visually - no corpse paint. Nagrim plays misanthropic blackmetal with small influences from death and thrashmetal aswell as some more complex song-structures.
Therefore we're superior. We will destroy Adonai once and for all...

In late 2003 and the beginning of 2004 two compilations were made. The first was 'Philosophers of the Armageddon' on a italian label and the other was "Black Metal Peststurm" on the austrian Pesttod Records.
Also the, at first 'half-official' 2-track Promo 2004 got released at this website exclusively, only a few 'real' copies was made.
