Biografia : Motherpig

Motherpig, Bosnian/Croatian/Mexican rock'n'roll powerhouse was never about any restrictions, genre limitations or anything which would help band to be put in a box with a label on it. Motherpig since the beginning was all about Rock'n'Roll.

And it all began in 2004 with Sharan and his friends Ajdin listening to some death/black and grindcore music during ISK Radio Show on Radio 202. Motherpig was born all of a sudden, with no expectations from its creators, just to create furious, unrestricted mayhem influenced by the music of Anal Cunt and XXX Maniak.

Ajdin left soon after the initial idea and Sharan took over the band which from its beginning til December 2007 was Sharan's bedroom project, releasing split CD's with notorius cybergrind, deathgrind, grindcore, punk underground acts on various labels all around the world.
As the time went on and on, music changed from insulting noisecore to socially and politically oriented grindcore / mincecore with topics such as political/social situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and B horror movies themes.

In November 2007, Sharan got a response from legendary Agathocles to record a split with them and he gathered up the first line-up: Zvone on guitar, Alex on drums and Sharan as bassist and vocalist. This line-up recorded "The Underdogs Philosophy" split with Agathocles and numerous other split releases. They've also played their first gig in December 2007 along Bosnian black metal gods KRV and jazz/rap group Tread and The Psychoacoustics. Since then band did numerous splits and refined their musical style to more rock'n'roll and punk influenced grindcore/mincecore in the vein of bands such as Malignant Tumour.

As a result of Sharan's health problems, there was a new vocalist on the line in Motherpig in 2008, a guy called. Osa. He lasted in a band for one year and is featured on "Ultimate Experience in Grueling Horror" split as a vocalist.

In 2009, after playing as a support act for Napalm Death here in Sarajevo, Zvone decides to leave the band, defining his reason to leave as "musical differences". Having their egos boosted, Sharan, Alex and Osa decided to search for a new guitar player in Sarajevo, but there was no one quite interested to fill in. That was quite a problem, since Motherpig was scheduled for first European tour in May 2009. Hopeless, searching for a new guitar player willing to learn songs and go touring, Sharan contacted his friend Atlija which he met during Atlija’s visit to Sarajevo when he was playing with Infernal Hemeroid in 2006. Atlija agreed, got the songs and learned them by heart. Literally, since when Motherpig went on tour which spread over 20 days and included Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Croatia and Bosnia (with brief visits to Hungary and Poland), people loved what they heard and Motherpig was really completed again – with Sharan back on vocal duty since Osa didn’t get his documents issued in time to leave for a tour.

Osa left the band shortly after Motherpig came back home from touring, and Sharan was ready to try to take on vocal duties one more time. Since that moment, band is working as rock'n'roll trio and as a result of a great understanding between the band members and mutual vision of the music - in July 2011 debut album "Nojev Let" was born.

Taking musical influences from bands such as Motorhead and Amebix and lyrical influences from their own life experiences, "Nojev Let" is a dark and atmospheric tale starting with spoken word by world's finest graphic novelist Alan Moore doing his spoken word. It's an excellent piece of art which lives its own life and which will give you the best picture about band's evolution and today's musical and lyrical vision.

So, Motherpig was never about genres, Motherpig was never about being sterile and labeled and Motherpig was, to be perfectly sure, never about stopping.

Especially now, when rock'n'roll world is about to experience them in their prime which will last for years and years.
