Stripped down, raw, punishing, but above all heavy. Meadows is a four piece consisting of vocalist Bernard Jansen, guitarist Rinus Veldhuijzen, bassist Guus Reijken, and drummer Robbert Olierook. Formed in the winter of 2013 in the desolate polders surrounding Leiden, Meadows' true start and first tastes of success came in 2014 with a slew of live performances and the release of their debut EP 'Sleepless'. 'Sleepless' marks Meadows entrance into the arena of extreme music, and its 5 scathing tracks deliver a concise taste of what Meadows is all about.

Following a successful 2014, Meadows broke into 2015 with yet another slew of live performances. Having shared stages like the Baroeg and Melkweg with acts such as Herder and Teethgrinder, Meadows has consistently proven to be a force to be reckoned with, especially live.

Eschewing traditional genre boundaries, Meadows draws from a wide range of influences. 90's British Death-Doom and Stockholm style Death Metal merge with an uncompromising sense for heaviness and rhythm. Hardcore, Beatdown, Sludge, and Stoner influences add to the eclectic mix of influences, if nothing else Meadows could be considered purveyors of extreme music in general. With crushing guitars, deep guttural vocals, and tightly locked drums and bass 'Sleepless' provides 13 minutes of the best brutality Leiden has to offer.
