Based in Toulouse (South-West of France), Leiden start out in May 2000 and compose their first studio album a month later. Their first demo ‘Songs in the key of dark' received very positive welcome from the press and the public. Consequently, the band decides to get back to song writing and issues a maxi cd entitled ‘L'aube spirituelle', their tribute to the evolution of mentalities. The label Adipocere Records takes on the promotion and distribution of this maxi on a national level. 2001 is the year when the band joins the team Antistatic regrouping four other bands: Psykup, Sidilarsen, Delicatessen and Mary Slut. One year later in 2002, the Leiden members get back to song writing and started the composition of ‘Empty', their first LP, with the firmed conviction that their music would be based on a subtle interweaving of styles. Matt, their present drummer, joins the band in 2003, when they signed their first contract under the label Adipocere Records. This was followed by the issue of their LP in September 9th on a national level. ‘Empty' is then distributed in Europe and in France (Fnac, Virgin and Gibert Joseph dealers) Today the band has joined Jerkov, a label which takes on the booking.
