Inept Madness was formed in February 2007 by guitarist/singer Max Eriksson. The band began as a three-man group, but various line-up changes over the years has resulted in the current version of Inept Madness as seen below.

Inept Madness made their first serious recording in 2009; a 5-song EP dubbed "No Mercy".
In January 2011 the single "Return of the Assassin" was released, which featured a new sound that Critical Mass compares to bands such as Candlemass and Drain STH.
