Biografia : In Solitude (POR)

Coming from the western part of Europe, IN SOLITUDE is not a newcomer band but their last masterpiece “Nethergod” has everything to become one of the best musical surprises in 2004. If you doubt it just listen to the CD and judge for yourself.Everything started in 1995 when Sérgio Martins (vocals), Augusto Peixoto (drums), Tiago Sousa (guitars), Eduardo Borges (bass) and Lisa Amaral (keyboards) gathered in a small rehearsing room for the first time. After releasing some promo demos and presenting theirselves in live performances, they recorded their first album in 1998. The CD – produced by Luis Barros (Tarantula) – was named “Eternal” and released through Grade Records. In this year IN SOLITUDE is acclaimed as “Portuguese Newcomer of the Year” and their promotional tour took almost a year, playing in every corner of Portugal. In 1999, with the young and talented Paulo Camisa as guitar player, they played several shows with bands as Stratovarius and Tarantula. The year after they entered in studio to record the conceptual album “Opus: Universe” - again with Luis Barros – and managed to have two special guest singers: Ana Lara (Oratory) and Jorge Marques (Tarantula). The CD is released in October – their first one with Recital Records – and in its promotional tour IN SOLITUDE shares the stage with bands as Metalium, Oratory and Sacred Sin, playing in Portugal and Spain. The following two years were quieter because of some line-up changes but the band still manages to record the cover version of “Falling World” for the Tarantula tribute released in 2001 and to play with bands such as Blaze. In 2003 they start recording the third album with Hugo Moreira on drums and Eduardo Neves on bass. Again they had the cooperation of Oratory members: Ana Lara sings in “Realm of a thousand spears” and Rui Santos helped in some bass parts and engineered the CD in its own Echosystem Studios. In September 2004 the album is released in Portugal and the “Nethergod Tour” will follow. So “face the Nethergod”!
