Biografia : In Hell With Traitors

In Hell With Traitors formed in 2008 with Colin on Drums, Nick on Guitars and Sean on vocals. Andres filled in on bass for the 2008 Next Big Thing DC Music festival, and for dates with ABACABB and Stray From the Path IHWT added second guitarist Darren. In the summer of 2008 Andres and Sean left to pursue more Blink-182 style dreams and Darren took over as a much more aggressive stage presence and vocalist for the 2009 Album "Illicit Multiorgan Procurement," for which Colin recorded dubbed bass tracks. The style had abruptly shifted from deathcore to a much heavier sound, though still laden with breakdowns. The band played once again for TNBT fest and in underground parties (and the smokiest [and drunkest] of basements). In late 2010, IHWT played a show for a friend who took his own life, and after several weeks of struggling, several members were hospitalized. By the fall of 2010, Darren had left and Djaafar Hardiono of End the Struggle was providing vocals. His higher pitched style marked a shift to grindcore in the bands sound and a continuing foray into punk, hardcore, noise, and slam. It was during this period that the simultaneously released follow-ups to IMP were recorded and subsequently released to the internet and underground market: "Halo of Needles," a split EP with Eye Floater, was a slamming mixture of spastic deathgrind shorts and slamming death metal grooves cut by jazz and electronic sampling ; "Worlds of Degradation and Filth" marked a mixture of a crusty drive further into punk and extreme grindcore, with songs such as "Falsehood of the Consecrated" and Night Amongst Wolves" being reminiscent of Kill the Client or Agenda of Swine while "Decomposer Consumption" and "Descent of Lyra" offered cello solos, 5 minute sludge breaks, and a much higher level of technicality. After leaving due to personal reasons in 2011, Djaafar's spot was filled by local DC DJ David Newsham. Appearing for a couple weeks at basement shows, the trio opened on a stage for the first time in nearly a year for Gaza, Trap Them and the Red Chord. Newsham is Due to appear in the summer of 2011 on the upcoming IHWT/Stapler split EP, "Spirit Animal EP," and "10 Haikus on Desolation: Putrid Excretions EP."
