If Man Is Five found their start in Binghamton, New York when the two founding members, Brianna and Angela, met in the summer of 1997 and were later reunited at college in the Spring of 2002. Their hard-hitting guitar riffs, flowing melodies and poetic lyrics with Angelas powerful voice, come together creating an interestingly diverse musical act. In the past year If Man Is Five has steadily played the Northeast U.S. and Canada Then were chosen to play Lady Fest East, and LadyFest Lansing. If Man Is Five has opened for well-known acts such as Prong, Burnt By The Sun, If Hope Dies and Gotham Road. Their debut album, Azraela, received rave reviews from a variety of sources, being named best album of the summer of 2003 by regional music magazine 315. There is little doubt that this band can only move upward, by bringing originality and raw talent to the forefront.
