Biografia : Hibria

HIBRIA is one of the most supported Brazilian bands by the audience, in Brazil and abroad. The band has released in 2009 their second album - The Skull Collectors. The album has been mixed and mastered in Germany, resulting in a blasting raging album made to energize, from the beginning to the end, whoever listens to it. The June (2009) issue from the Brazilian Magazine ROADIE CREW, one of Brazil's biggest magazines of music, has highlighted The Skull Collectors among the 5 best sellers in Brazil in June.

In January of 2010, HIBRIA was chosen to open METALLICA's concert, in Porto Alegre/BR, on the World Magnetic Tour’ 10, playing for 25.000 people.

In October of 2009, after their successful Collecting Skulls WTour, the band was invited to play in Japan again at LOUD PARK 2009, playing for 15.000 headbangers, sharing the stage with some of the most important Metal bands of the world such as Judas Priest, Slayer, Megadeth, Arch enemy, Napalm Death, Antrax, Childrem of Bodom, Papa Roach, among others. Besides playing at Loud Park, the band opened Megadeth's concert , in Nagoya.

In May of 2009, the band started their international tour - Collecting Skulls WTour - playing in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Canada. After the international tour, the band went back to Brazil to release the album in their hometown, Porto Alegre ( More the details on this link Tour Report ).

The band's previous album was Defying the Rules, and it brought the melodic lines from the 80's, the speed from the 90's and the 2000's musicians skills. DTR was released in Brazil, USA, Canada, Western Europe, Russia and Baltic States, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and Hong Kong.

In Japan, DTR has been a best seller in the Heavy Metal category during 6 consecutive weeks on the retailing stores HMV in Japan, being for the whole period in the first position, and it's been voted among the best of the year, both by the editors and the readers from the magazine BURRN.

In Brazil, the band has been voted as the brightest hope of 2005, according to the readers from ROCK BRIGADE, one of Brazil's biggest magazines of music, and in the last 3 years the band was among the best 10 Brazilian bands, according to the visitors from WHIPLASH.net, Brazil's most popular music Web site. Also, based on the votes from the audience, the band participated in the last edition from BMU (Brazil Metal Union). In 2008, the band reached the finals from Wacken Metal Battle in São Paulo.
