This Swiss band already has come around honesty and put forward their fourth disk with „Ride“. What for a sound play Fair Haven, I would describe it suitable with AOR, then this lays near and gets justified to the music of the guys. I discover a big similarity to the German „Fair Warning“, what not only hasn’t to do with the little bit similar band name now. Fair Haven beat in the same slot like the German AOR-hope in its time. Always looking for not to hard sound and the melodies standed into the foreground, so Fair Haven dare be interesting for the one and other fan. They don’t invent this kind of music new, but you can’t them throw before, that they move on worn out trails. The tracks rock passable out of the home system and the wipping with the foot sets in automatic. Sure, here you find hardly corners or edges, but here and there it already rocks well, a good example for this is „Asking forever (Why?)“. Sure the questions stays open, whether Fair Haven can itself carry through in the AOR-scene, then the competition in this year is right big there. But where Journey have cared for long faces with their new album, could be a potential interest party in sight for Fair Haven. Here and there the songs sound a little bit unpolished, but this are little things. When they band would lead a keyboarder in their lines, then the songs would sound yet some more and sure yet better. I take a song title like „Polish my Ferrari“ commentless. Ähh!!
