DOPE NEEDLE is a Powerviolence and Grindcore band from Carroll/Baltimore County Maryland. The band was formed in late august 2018 and released 2 demos a few months after formation. initially starting as a 2 piece studio project between RJ and Redd, they eventually were invited to start playing out with Redd's Other band DEBARKING (defunct circa 2020), to which the drummer Hallow (Redd's sibling) of DEBARKING offered up her skills as a guitar player so they could play dope needle's songs live. their first set was 10 seconds long and consisted of 1 song called "FOLK PUNK SUCKS" (you can find audio of this on a band called OBSTINATE FUCKHEAD'S bandcamp under a bootleg live tape of the three bands playing in a friends basement at a house party. Once they figured out a set and wrote some new material, they released their first split cassette with PCP PARADE on OPAQUS records. since then they've released several splits.
