‘...I am here for you to see how the wizardry of force, the devil’s feet shall thwart the liar’s home, shall thwart it into dust…’
In 2000, two young men who have long been studying the black art of heavy music, decided to express their frustration with the surrounding catholic world through music. Thus, Distres came into being with its first two members: Aras and Aryman. The initial stage of the band’s existence was troubled by constant band members’ transfers, until Nathan (vocals) and Maciej (guitar)joined Distres. After a two years, Maciej left the band and was substituted by CvA (bass).
‘…ensnared by a shapeless lump…’
After three years of playing together, the band’s first material was released- a demo with “My Way", "Murderer", "Scars" and "The Final Battle". The demo and first concerts were an impulse for Aryman and Aras to develop, however neither Nathan, nor CvA participated actively and the bands progress was put on halt. That stage of the duration of Distres ended with Nathan’s departure.
‘…like a stream, the rain purifies our reality…’
After a short period of stagnation, Distres welcomed Conop-the hate-filled and rebelling against the surrounding world Cruel Clarity member. The band reaches a point where all the members unanimously agree to the type of music that will be created and the level of engagement in the band’s affairs. As a result, Distres produces new singles and places them on a split-an outcome of collaboration with a death metal band by the name of Warpath.
‘…my force feeds on the embers of the carcasses that burn me…’
The year 2009 brings further changes to the band’s makeup. Distres accepts Matis (bass) and Seth (guitar) as new members. Distres is now completely engaged in their craft and they try to approach a greater number of recipients by frequent concerting. New tracks, which will soon be recorded, begin forming their shape in the musicians’ minds with the hope of reaching all these, who hunger for heavy tones and uncompromising message.
