Devourment: a band formed under a time in my life that I simply had no wish to continue musically. Anyway, life in its early 20s is always some kind of a smelly shit sausage. We however (Max Thornell-drums, Ramon Novak-guitar, Anders Gyllensten-guitar and me on bass/vocals) started a band strongly influenced by the likes of Master, Death Strike and Repulsion.

We rehearsed a few times and recorded some songs of mangled dehumanization during practice. A rehearsal demo was spread gently through out the underground and its tape traders.

What happened after that, well I have no idea? The band just dissolved... Last year (2007) a label called Ancient Enemy released (I guess? haven't seen or heard it yet! haha) a limited edition 7" entitled "Shallow Grave" (b-side feat. the tune "Too Late") - a true collectors item! (eBay heeere we come, haha).

Well, when looking back at the time of this band I just feel some kinda confusion - both musically as well as personally. On one hand it was a bugger that we didn't go on long enough to record something somewhat decent. On the other, I'm happy for what was just around the corner, lurking in the dark.

It was time for something totally different - starting with an F!

The other day I went down to my storage place in the basement here - and guess what I found? Yes - the mystical recording from the same session that's featured on this 7"! After have listened a few minutes I realized that it sounded quite brutal. A decent studio and a few more songs and bam! - we would've had released one helluva disc I'm certain.
