Destillery was based in 1993. There was a diffrent line-up back then and Mark is the last founding member that´s still alive in Destillery today. To be honest, music was not the only important thing in these days. The band prefered other things (some drinks...). In 1994 the first guitarist was replaced by Daniel Hartelt, but there still no singer in the band at this moment. Anyway, the band wrote it´s first songs like "Devoid of sense", "Soul to soul"(both released on demo) and some cover songs. In 1995 there was a couple of metalbands in Marl. In this time a band called Cryptic Vision gave up. We bought a demo of them to check out the singer. His name was Florian Reimann. The most of ous didn´t like his voice till the day we played a session togehter. A singer was born. We continued song writing and soon there was songs like "Warland" or "The Discovery(never recorded it)". So we played some gigs. The band got good reactions so far. Everything seemed allright. It wasn´t!! Our second guitarist left the band. He was a very inportant part of the band and it was hard to go on. In January 97 ex-"Crestfallen" guitarist Roland Smigerski joined the band. He fits in exellent. We wrote some songs together and record our first Demo, called Interior Fire. It was sold out soon after release. Some concerts later our drummer left the band. Two weeks later Lars join Destillery. Our luck continues. After 4 month of hard work in song writting we get a deal at Iron Glory Records.(Kai Wollwert from United Forces Magazin make this dream come true!)" Immortal Sun" was the result. We get some good reaktions on this album and meet a lot of people. People like Matthias Lotz (Metallbörse) helped us a lot to get some gigs. Our greatest live Concert was ROCK IN ALLHAU, with W.A.S.P., Overkill, Girlschool, King Diamond, Manowar, Lefay.... We continue in this formation!!!

Sep. 2001 we produced our third album "Ferrum" with Achim Köhler (Primal Frear / Sacret Steel) in a very professional way (House of music). Achims influence erase the problems with Sound and recording. The result: A fat Sound with more differentiation.
