DARK POETRY was born in 1997, in Bergerac Town (Dordogne - France). Shortly, the band's universe appears as a fine mix of brutality, darkness and melody, through death, black and power metal parts…

After two demos sold out in France and a considerable number of concerts, \"An Ugly Little Freak\" is release in February 2003, with the collaboration of Manitou Promotion (subsidiary of Thundering records), first own-produced album, which shows that the band found its own language. Alternating fast ultra verses, yelling vocals and ultra heavy riffs, each title crushes heaviness and rage.

Very appreciated by press and radios, the album was selected by MUSICAST, STARTER and ROCKSOUND as the “best autoproduction of the month” in March 2003, the title \"pressurized\" published on the sampler of magazine ROCKSOUND, and many and excellent reviews (HardRockmag, Metallian, HardN\' Heavy, ViolentSolutions, Metal Inside (Germany), SSMT (USA)...) followed shortly. Came then a lot of great and memorable concerts with bands like Gojira, Loudblast, Black Bomb A, Dagoba, Zombie Eaters, Adagio, Tripod... through France, and Switzerland, where Dark Poetry played in Baleinev Fest in front of 4200 crazy people…

The band is currently in full work of composition of the next album, and many titles are ready. The pre-production was started with Fred Bornerie, and the recording of the whole album scheduled for September 2004. Every song sound much more heavier, oppressive, brutal, and melodic than ever. Prepare yourself for the devastation, it is just the beginning…
