Biografia : Daemonolatria

Deeply impressed by old Rotting Christ, Dark Throne and Immortal albums, Dejan Persak (guitar), as well as Christian Schulz (drums) and Johannes Horn (vocals) - both from Black Eternity - decided to found a fuckin' 3-member black metal band called DAEMONOLATRIA.

After a couple of rehearsals, the classic 3-member line-up was supplemented by a keyboard player. The first few songs were made.

Despite first progress, the chemistry within the band was not satisfactory yet, and when Johannes Horn left DAEMONOLATRIA because of musical differences, a new vocalist had to be found.

Michael Hügelschäffer joined the band and he had not only the voice required but also the relevant skills on the keyboards. This made it possible for the original keyboard player to enrich the band as a second guitarist. With this line-up, DAEMONOLATRIA had its first few successful gigs, for example at the Shadows of Tragedy Festival in Mainbernheim, or in regional youth centers.

In 1999, however, the second guitarist left the band despite a persistently growing number of songs and the first demo, recorded at ValBo´s Sound Tempel. DAEMONOLATRIA took a creative break.

A new drummer joined and Christian Schulz started playing guitar for DAEMONOLATRIA, and this breathed new life into the band. With this line-up the band started recording its first official demo, named Gone up into Flames. The recordings, however, couldn't be finished as the drummer left the band all of a sudden and Daemonolatria didn't have a place to rehearse anymore, all of this resulting in another standstill in the band's progress.

In summer 2001, the remaining core of the band, Dejan Persak (guitar), Christian Schulz (guitar) and Michael Hügelschäffer (keyboards/vocals), decided to give everything the had once again and to find new colleagues. And with Michael Schmidt as drummer and Dominik Merz as bass player they found two capable musicians.

In 2003, however, the line-up changed once again when Schmitti left Daemonolatria for unknown reasons. He was replaced by Dominik "Ottwin" Ott, who had amazing skills considering his young age, and it didn't take him long to integrate in the band. In addition, Domi took over the lead vocals.

In summer 2006 Stefan Schlessmann took over the drums, for Ottwin pledged himself for a longer time to the service to his homecountry and therefor had hardly any time left for the band.
The newest sprout in the line-up fit in well since the beginning and brought fresh blood and ideas to the band.
