Biografia : DRS

D.R.S. was a death / thrash metal band formed by guitarist Adam Bickers while he was at the university. They never recorded any studio material but a live demo was recorded in the year 2000 and released in 2002.
Official biography from 2002

The band was formed in October 1998 by guitarist Adam Bickers and vocalist Jonathan Bramford in "The Dungeon" club, Southampton. They were quickly joined by Black Metal enthusiast Alex Saint-Dizier on bass, whom Adam met in the Students Union bar at the University.

A good drummer was a little harder to find. The band (still unnamed at that time) tried out a large number of hopefuls to no avail. Then one day someone casually strolled into the rehearsal room and sat down behind the kit, Oscar Challenger. His insane, breakneck drumming was so unique he was instantly drafted into the band. The line-up was complete.

Our first gig (under the name of Dysphoria) was on the 26th of January 1999 at the Bier Kellar, Southampton supporting Cage .The gig was a success leading to further gigs with Cage and Black Metallers Reign of Erebus in Southampton and Winchester.

Unfortunately a change of name was necessary in April 1999. Whilst at a Dimmu Borgir gig in London Adam and Alex discovered another band on the underground scene using the name "Dysphoria". We agreed to adopt the initials of one of our most popular songs, "Dissection Room Specimens", as the new name.

The aventure took a new turn at the end of 2001 when Will Besrick replaced Oscar Challenger behind the drumkit. This change arrived just before DRS started recording their first album.

The album can be expected to be launched via the web site in the second half of 2002.
