Concealment are a band based on Sintra,Portugal. Playing a blend of Progressive Death metal with Grind Core since 1995.

Path

Concealment were formed in Sabugo, a small place near Sintra in 1995. The musical style of this band consists of a complex dissonant guitar work, off-time polyrhythmic drummings, unconventional 9 string bass lines and a expressive bLeak vocal style. The Concealment lyrics theme are based in the coldness of the modern world, the desperation of present and next generations.

1995

The original line-up of the group consisted of Luis Martins voice/guitar, Pedro Machuco bass, Filipe Correia guitar, David Jeronimo drums. The band were initially inspired by Death/Grind bands like Napalm Death, Carcass, Morbid Angel; and by the experimental/progressive bands like King Crimson, Emerson Lake and Palmer, the earlier Pink Floyd...

1996

The group record their first demo tape titled Naked, Drowned, Art... it was a glimpse of everything to came. In that year the group toured with the Portuguese Death Metal band Sacred Sin and the Spanish Hard Core band Dismal.

1998

Pedro Machuco and Luis Martins left the group. Paulo Silva join the band has a bass player and Filipe Correia became the lead vocalist of Concealment.

1999

Imperaffection was the second work of the band. With five songs Pandemic, an exenterated itch to glimpse, Livid Dawn, Effete Earth Breed, Into Paraphrenias Womb, Seance. It was the first approach to intense dissonant riffs and schizophrenic ambiences. The band played in old clubs like Rookie, Marques Rock Club, Nyktus Bar and Ritz Club with the Death/Grind Core bands Grog and Disassembled.

2001

The band has stop for a hibernate period till 2005.

2005

After the stop the band join again and compose the EP ...Of Malady the track list are; -Eye, Pandemic, Acanthous, Seance, Utter Sensuous, The Hissing. This work reveals a different musical approach more dynamic, more slower and tense than the other works. The first show in years was in Lotus Bar with Sideffects.

2006

In 2006 the band played several tour dates, the highlights were theMindless Process Tour with the portuguese Noise Core bands The Ladder, E.A.K., Crushing Sun, The Isolation Tour with the metal bands Ethereal and VS777, Alta Tensão indoor festival with the American Nu-Metal band (hed)pe, the last concert of this year was in the emblematic Hard Club with Crushing Sun and Mosh. In that year the band also Sign with More Agency and the independent label DFX, after that the band start recording Leak in the MigStudios

2007

This year the band release the debut album Leak. Leak have a little of all Concealment previous works, from the lugubrious complexity of Imperaffection to the dynamics of ...Of Malady, and with an extra experimental side. The first promotion of Leak was in the Alta Tensão Indoor 2007 with the Danish Metal band Mnemic and portuguese bands Reaktor and For Gods Fake, Leak have been very positive criticism from around the world such as the magazine Loud (PT), MetalHead (Romania), SoundZone (PT), HornsUp (BR), Rennie from Starkweather (USA), Melissa Cross (USA) among others.
