Colossa fuses raw power with melodic rock. Or as VPRO 3VOOR12 puts it: "The songs revolve around powerful riffs over a tight beat. You can't stay still to this music." The trio from Utrecht and Limburg has only been around since the summer of 2008, when they began writing songs for their first record.

They released their debut EP 'Colossa' as a download themselves in March 2009. With their single 'We Gotta Do It All The Way', Colossa managed to win over the 3FM editorial team and listeners, ultimately earning them the accolade '3FM Serious Talent’. In addition to this, 3FM listeners voted Colossa best 'Serious Talent' band, with the prize being a role in the BNN TV series ONM.

In the autumn of 2009 and 2010, Colossa frequently headlined at gigs on the club circuit, including a number of shows with kinsmen Triggerfinger. The band was spotted by label Goomah Music.

In autumn 2010 you’ll be able to see Colossa live at the Popronde before their official debut album comes out on Goomah / Excelsior Recordings / V2 in January 2011. The goal is clear: to shut themselves away completely and record an intense rock album that doesn’t shy away from depth. The album will be recorded under the direction of Guido Aalbers (Bertolf / QOTSA / Muse) in summer 2010.
