---2006---
CHAINED was formed by Daniel Persson (guitar) and Stefan Nielsen (drums) in late April. Daniel and Stefan both attended the University of Music in Piteå, Sweden where they studied to become music teachers. They both agreed on the idea of playing in a christian metal band. Andreas Lindberg, a friend at the university joined them on bass. After seven months without a singer, David Sandström, another student at the University of Music, completed the line-up in early November. CHAINED recorded an EP called ‘Shattered Minds’ in late November. In early December CHAINED recruited guitarist Johan Bergwall.

---2007---
The EP ‘Shattered Minds’ was released in early February, the release was followed by a couple of gigs. Due to heavy workload CHAINED could not book as many gigs as wanted. In the beginning of March Johan left the band. In early April CHAINED did a gig with the hard rock veterans Laudamus at Solid Rock Festival, a gig for which they received great reviews. In late May bass player Andreas Lindberg left the band. During the summer CHAINED received a lot of great and positive reviews in USA, Austria, Sweden, Alaska, Australia and Italy among others for the EP. During the summer David, the singer, started to play guitar in CHAINED flanking guitarist Daniel Persson.

---2008---
In early 2008 Jonas Stenlund (from Laudamus) joined CHAINED on bass to help out the band for a couple of gigs. But Jonas also agreed to lay down the bass on CHAINED's debut album. In the late summer of 2008 Stefan started to record his drum and percussive parts for the album. But due to a heavy schedule the recordings were put on hold until December when Daniel started to record his guitar parts.

---2009---
During January, February and March Daniel, David and Jonas completed their recording sessions and the debut album that was titled ‘Grateful Sinner’ was released on April 25th. After the release of Grateful Sinner CHAINED played a lot of gigs around Sweden during the summer and fall to promote their album. They received a lot of great reviews in USA, Germany, Sweden among others and started to make themselves a name in the world of christian metal. CHAINED extended their live show by doing acoustic, unplugged gigs as well as fully electric loud gigs.

---2010---
After a lot of gigs and hard work with promoting the band CHAINED joined the christian, Swedish booking agency DOT MUSIC AB. And after even more hard work, this time with Liljegren Records, CHAINED officially re-released their debut album in early December. This time the album was retitled and simply called Chained.
