"From Orgies and Rattles to Casket Soil"
In the very beginning there existed two bands called Bloodorgy and Deathrattle. Bloodorgy was more like a project of Juho and Antti. Its goal was to deliver gory death metal with tongue in cheek. Although it was more or less a joke, Casket Soil has played its song "Luciferian Feast" in few gigs. At the same time in 2009 Marko and Petri were busy with their band Deathrattle which also had Joni Lustig in guitar. Band had strong black metal influences in their music and recorded only few rehearsal tapes (on actual cassette tapes, how true is that?). In late 2009 Joni quit Deathrattle and band split up. After that, a beer-ridden conversation was held between brothers and idea of a mutual band saw daylight. "You got a drummer and I got a singer, what else do we need?"

"Goats, Thrash and Black Magick"
First rehearsals were held in January 2010 in a fridge-tempered cabin. Band wriggled through such classics as "Cult of Goat", "Luciferian Feast" and "Goatvenant". Despite the hangover of some members it all worked well and sounded a bit like music. Three songs were obviously not enough and so the terrific song writing and rehearsing started and went through almost the whole year. At this time music was very straightforward and maybe a bit generic death thrash metal with lyrics filled with guts, blood and goats. Notable tracks from this era are "Deformed In Orded" and "Black Magick Zen" which were recorded to first two demos and are still played live.
The year 2011 could be summed as writing and rehearsing 24/7. Band wrote lots of songs and only three made their way to the first demo. One great milestone to Casket Soil was its first real gig at local festival 28th August 2011. At the time band started to plan its first official recording, a demo tape. Casket Soil was approached by mr. Rauno Männikkö was interested in working with the band.

"This is what you wanted..."
The year of our Lord 2012 started with the recordings of Casket Soil's first demo tape. Band was obviously excited and nervous of this new experience. Three songs were recorded in 6 days during January. "Scum Tapes" was released 31st January 2012. In March band went to Raahe and shot a music video for the song "Worldbreaker". And of course all that was not enough for one year, so the band recorded another demo/promo tape at summer 2012. That tape included two songs: Black Magick Zen and Burden of the Soil. The band was on fire in 2012!

"From Hibernation To Exothermic"
Despite the fact that the band had a really quiet year in 2013, Casket Soil managed to write a material for the upcoming release.
This time the music had taken a direction towards darker and more mature atmosphere. Casket Soil recorded the cream of the crop in March 2014. The EP was blessed with a name "Reptilian Verses", including five tracks and saw the light of the day in the following summer. Shortly after the release of "Reptilian Verses" band started to work on brand new material for their to-be-released first album.
First demos were recorded in summer 2014 and the process would continue until spring of 2015.
