Black Candle was formed in 1994 by Simon(Dark Lord Tenebrus later changed his name to Simon),Azael and Thummiel, and was Luxembourgs first Blackmetal band. At that time we had no drummer and we were not the best musicans at that time. The rehearsals were horrible noise explosions. The first fragments for our first song "My Black Sky" were formed. Thummiel left the band to form his own band Sargatanas. Some weeks later Simon and Azael meet a guy called Claude(Amaymon late changed his name to Shadow) and he told them that he was a drummer. Soon he joined Black Candle and the Line up was complete. Black Candle restarted to rehearse and after a short time 2 or 3 songs were created. In March 1996 our first demo "My Black Sky" was releaesed. The intros and outros on this demo were made by "Mad Thrashing Daniac" who 9 years later joined Black Candle as Guitar player. After a couple ot mounths Azael must left the band for lack of musical talent and lack of intrest. Simon played the guitar and bass and Black Candle continued as a 2 man Band. In 1997 the second demo "Winter Of Wrath" was released. It was the first stuff recorded in a studio. Black Candle´s demo tapes remained cult status in the underground scene an some fans allways pretend that the demos are the best recordings. Shortly after releasing "Winter Of Wrath" Lord Mogon joined Black Candle on Bass guitar. The First gig was played in Germany. In November 1997 Black Candle enters the studio again to record Their cult track "Meeting with the Beast. This song was on Shiver Records cd compilation "sometimes death is better". Mogon left the band and Black Candle was a 2 man band again. After this the band had no rehearsal place anymore and was on hold for nearly a year. Simon joined the german Black Metal Band Pagan Winter as singer and Shadow was drummer in Vinsval. In late 1998 Black Candles line up was completed with Phosphoros on lead guitar and Fallen on Bass guitar. A new rehearsal Room was found and the work for the debut mini album was going on. In 1999 "Nigthfire" the first Black Candle mini album was released on Pw records. Black Candle started to create new tracks. Fallen left the band. L.H. taked his place on bass. In August 2000 the band enters Emerald studios to record "The Faceless Angel". This record session was very desastrous. L.H. left during the recording and only apears on 6 tracks. Phosohoros and Simon played bass an the remaining songs. After completing "The Faceless Angel" Phosphoros left to join "Desdemonia". In 2002 "The Faceless Angel" was finaly released with the support of Burhuc a.s.b.l. A local concert organisator. The record was disrtibuted by Pw productions. Black Candle played a lot of gigs in Luxembourg,France and Germany with a lot of session musicians. In 2003 the band was a 2 man band again. Only Simon amd Shadow remained. In 2004 Mad Thrashing Daniac (Dan) joined as lead guitar player,and again lots of gigs were played. In late 2005 the band started to record their new album "Lead Me To The Tombs". This record was recorded and mixed by Simon. Lead Me To The Tombs is Black Candles best album and the band got a lot of good reviews and resonance everywhere. Lead Me To The Tombs was sold in a lot of diffirent countrys like Germany,France,Belgium,Brazil,Japan,U.S.A,Belarus,Sweden,Canada and others. In 2006 Naberios (Bass) and Styxx(Vocals) joined Black Candle and completed the line up again. In December 2006 the band played a fantastic gig in Arnheim(Holland) at the Waking the Dead festival. It was their best gig ever. The glorious ride of Black Candle goes on. Today Black Candle is a cult band and has a lot of very fanatic fans. There were those guys driving 800 km to see us live. Amazing!!! That´s metal!!! All Black Candle members have new musical projects. Simon have his project Deformation Guaranteed and plays bass on Reverence debut album. Daniac will run his band Nefast. Styxx plays in Reverence and Decay. Shadow plays in a lot of bands too. Black Candle split up in June 2007!!! New material will not be released. There will be a limited live tape soon.
