Biografia : Atra Hora

Atra Hora was founded by Yanis 'Shaxu' Georgiadi (formerly Xul; guitars, music) and Ashkael (vocals) in mid-2006. A year later the band recorded a Raw Black Metal demo "They Go" that was released by the Russian underground label "The Kether Crown Prods" on Pro-CD'r. After several gigs in the South of Russia, Ashkael, Leon (bass) and Rodomag (guitars) left the band. Alextos Georgiadi (aka Domination, Bass/Vocals) became the new frontman and the band changed their style to Atmospheric Dark Death Metal with elements of other various musical genres.

With the new line up and change in style Arta Hora started recording sessions for a full-length album with the following line-up:
Alextos 'Domination' Georgiadi - bass, lead vocals,
Yanis 'Shaxu' Georgiadi - guitars, backing and clean vocals,
Genrih - drums & percussion.

The recording sessions took place at Darknagar Records studio and were assisted by a talented musician and producer namely; Armand Quenteres (Sacratus, ex-Dolor Al Reves). The album was finished in November, 2009. During this time Alextos Georgiadi and Armand Quenteres developed and expanded their record label Darknagar Records. Thus the first full-length album of Atra Hora named "Lost in the Depths" has become a debut release of the new label. The album artwork was created by W.Smerdulak, a famous Russian artist and designer known for his work with such acts as... (Asguard, Dark Princess, Devilish Distance, Forgive Me Not, Inexist, Anachronaeon, Rossomahaar, etc). The album received many rave reviews and positive feedback amongst critics and through ambiguous assessment of listeners accustomed to band's early recordings.

In 2010 Neit Shu (keyboards) and Nicolaos 'Ijhi' Stryukov (guitar) joined the band. With the new members and line-up Atra Hora has started the recording process of a new album titled "Via Combusta" which contains darker and more atmospheric elements then the bands earlier albums. The new album is deeply influenced by the Greek culture with three songs on the album being performed in the Greek language. Alextos and Yanis Georgiadi also are in a side-project band called Tristesse Aeternum that is highly recommended to check out for anyone who is interested in Atra Hora.
