Biografia : Anael (GER)

Possessed by the love of music and creative restlessness, Anael was founded in autumn 1999 e.v. by Seraphackh (guitar, voc).
His intention was the will to combine the hatred and agression of Black Metal bands like Celtic Frost, Bathory, Venom and Mayhem with the dark, dooming atmosphere of bands like Black Sabbath, Candlemass and Pentagram, including some classical influences, and to represent this style nowdays. The lyrical concept should be based on the true heretic vocation and the occult, satanic and gnostic experiences of the band's members. A more than fitting and talented partner he found soon in Primeumathon (battery).

The infernal duo began to write songs and in May 2000 they had the first chance to present some of the material live on stage. Because of the bad sound of that gig they decided to record their first demo in a studio. So they entered the "Rape of harmonies" - Studio in September 2000 and the first dark record - a demo called "Into the dark" was brought to to light. This tape was produced by Patrick W. Engel and contains 4 tracks of Black Metal in a soundquality, the band still is more than satisfied with.

Following the desire to watch the audience's reaction on their blasphemic creations and with Amauroptavir - an old friend of Seraphackh - on bass they played a livegig with Fatal Embrace, Seirim and Prosatanos in January 2001. Another great gig with Impending Doom and Descerebration (Brazil) followed in March 2001. Here they presented the demotracks and some new material that will be released this year.

After a period of writing new songs Anael went to the "Rape of harmonies" again to record one new song and an intro for a Split-EP with the german cult-thrashers Buried God in september 2001 e.v. Marcel Spaller of Sombre Records made another great offer to release another EP on his label so the 7" called "Infernal Devotion" was released in June 2002. To complete the lineup Melechtonior joined the band to play bass live and on the forthcoming records. So Anael played some more gigs, especially a legendary (for them) gig with Atanatos and Pentacle in Weimar.

After a while Melechtonior decided to leave the band for private reasons, but therefor another friend (since the beginning) - Angel of Doom - joined Anael. What first was thought only as a temporary solution now is fixed for a longer time. Besides this the Iron Tyrant from Italy made an offer to release a split with the Kanadian band Lust in autumn 2002. This release had to wait until March 2003, but is finally out now together with the Debut of ANAEL on Barbarian Wrath!!!

So the band is now looking forward to burn the stages again!!! Works on the second act of magick have yet started, so BEWARE!
