T. and V. formed Among The Mortals in 1997 as a two-man project, recording and releasing a demo, 'A Duet of Tragedy', the same year.

During the next few years, they tried their best to put together a full line-up, but faced persistent problems in recruiting musicians (hails to A. from Lost With You for staying on board all those years).

The band was put on hold indefinitely in spring 2002, but was never buried for good - T. continued to write new material, while V. established amongthemortals.com (under construction at the moment).

In autumn 2005 they decided to continue as a two-piece again.

ATM have been working on new material for a while now, expect a release of some kind in early 2009.
