The Advent project was born in 1998 in the city of Grugliasco, near Turin.
At the beginning the band was called "Ras-Algheti" and it was founded by Giorgio (guitar), Riccardo (drums) and Stefano (the first keyboarder and singer).
In 1999 Federico (singer of an other band called Domini Tenebrarum) enter in the band.
Then we decide to change our name because there was an other Italian band (quite famous) called with the same name.
A lot of name was riddled and in the end we chosen "Advent" (short name with powerful essence).
In the April of 2001 we recorded our first demo "From A Distant Landscape" (we wanted only freezing the tracks for ourselves, but the work wasn"t so bad and then we decided to send it around the world).
The original idea was to play Symphonic Black Metal like the first Hecate Enthroned (in fact our first demo "From A Distant Landscape" sound more like black metal).
Then without any purpose our sound is changing: it simply evolved in different ways.
"From A Distant Landscape" is very different from new Advent concept, but in any way we think that it isn"t a very bad work (we recorded it in only three days of work: both sounds and mixing!!!).
Looking back we see that there are some imprecision but we are only at the beginning and then this work have also received good critics around the world.
Then we decided to find a bass and in few moths Gigi was on the crew.
In November 2002 until February 2003 we created our second work: "Valholl" (this time we wanted to try to make something of more professional).
We don"t know why, but our sound in "Valholl" changed.
We also change the mind to approach to the work in studio: surely we wanted have a professional work this time.
We don"t really tried to change something: all the evolutions from the first band"s effort were naturally.
We grow as our music grows.
We were satisfied, but Stefano decide to leave Advent and then we tried to search a new keyboarder...
We were not so luck (we found some good musician, but not in line with mind of the Advent"s project).
So we decided to leave keyboards and search another guitar and then in few week we found Alessandro that was perfect for Advent!
The crew was quite complete and was in this period that Golden Lake contacted us to make a contract: so we create new songs and we enter in studio to recorded "The Dawn" (our first big work).
We included the three tracks of "Valholl" in "The Dawn" with other six new songs because we think that they are a good work that had to be listened by the most number of people possible and so a demo was restrictive for this songs.
And we used the support of a new keyborder, Nicola (only for this work), for the middle track and the outro.
After this record we continue to work and finally we have founded a new keyboarder: Valerio and we are just working on new songs.
