The history of Ab-sense begins in early 2004, when some friends and fellow students in Patras, with a common interest in their love for quality metal music, decided that there's more interest in rehearsing and jamming than wasting their time in coffee shops... Their first attempt in forming a band to fulfill their musical vision, was made under the name 'Insane Sanity'. The result was a successful live, with a set-list consisting only by cover songs.
Since then, Miltos and Thanassis, decided to change the band's name into 'Ab-sense' (a pun of the phrase "absence of sense") and immediately started working on original material. After the line-up was completed, they began rehearsing constantly and soon they gave their first live perfomances in the city of Patras.
As far as our influences are concerned, we decided that it was far more important and honest for us to filter our music through actual facts and situations that marked our lives, rather than serving 'second-hand' riffs by well known bands as our own ideas. Life situations such as backstabs and hypocrisy, the restive spirit of our age combined with the misery of the Greek country and many more everyday facts, forged a strong friendship among the members of the band, which is reflected in its musical character. If we were forced to name our biggest musical infleunces, these would be Sodom (Expurse Of Sodomy EP/ Persecution Mania era), Morbid Angel (Covenant/ Domination era) and Chuck Schuldiner (especially guitarwise) among many others.
The band has performed live only in Patras so far.
Our only official release until now is the 4-track EP "Absence of sense". It was recorded between February & March 2007 in "Steki" studios in Patras and it was officially released in September 2008, as an independent self-financed production.
Some members οf Ab-sense are also active members of athenian thrashers Damned Creed and Warcode from Trikala.
