Ellis has produced most of his own band's material, as well as helping out others in the Dallas metal community. Starting with MÂAX in the early'80s, his song-writing abilities drove other bands such as MindThreat, 10 KINGDOMS, and presently BlackWolfe. "I've always preferred to produce my own stuff, you know what you want to hear, right? But producing for others has taught me a lot about listening for 'that one thing' that makes or breaks a song." Ellis' band BlackWolfe is currently on hiatus due to medical problems, but expects to release all new material sometime in late 2017 - early 2018.
