Amazingly diverse and a unique listen

Painted in Exile is a pretty unknown band which I have yet to figure out why. Everything about them is absolutely perfect. There rhythm and the way they can change styles in their songs is totally mind blowing. The technicality along with the melody is just a constant perfect flow. Maybe every now and then it will get a little bit confusing but there diversity is unlike anything and that for sure makes up for it.

Now it's calling Painted in Exile a deathcore band on the genre, but for all you elitists that think deathcore is "gay" or "scene" then you have not heard this band. This band goes from rap(yes the intro in the song Skylines(my personal favorite) starts off with about 1 minute of them rapping and it is so unexpected it just works for me), to death metal, to progressive metal, to smooth jazz, and technical death metal. You might be thinking wtf how does smooth jazz fit with death metal. Well I thought the same thing and I don't really care for jazz but honestly it is really emotional and gives the songs so much feeling to them. My body shakes from excitement when I listen to PIE because of how emotionally touching they are.

Revitalized is an excellent EP but, there are only three songs on it. Yes that might not seem that good but they have some pretty long songs all over 8 minutes so it makes up for there only being three songs. The only thing is, when I listen to them I just want to hear more more more, but it feels like it doesn't last nearly long enough. I would love to see this band release a full-length but I have yet to hear any news about them.

All the drumming is really technical with a lot of fills and it is a standout in this band but honestly everything in this band is a standout and I can't really exclude anything. The breakdowns have some pretty fancy footwork which is really cool and adds that extra boom to them.

The vocals are not like mind blowingly different or amazing. They are perfect for this band and I would not change anything about them. I also really love the clean singers voice a ton. The growls are more death metalish then core which is a bonus. He does have some high pitched growls that are fantastic. A lot better than most bands. They aren't as good as some bands, suicide silence's highs for example, but they have a different sound to them and are fun to listen to.

Well I think that's about it for this review. I really would say this album is a must for ANYBODY who likes metal. I would say listen to skylines all the way through before you judge it on the intro. I give this album a 20/20. It does not ever get old to me and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.
