Rebellion, the 1988 debute album from Christian Progressive
Metal band SACRED WARRIOR is not a bad start. After I got the album Masters Command I was hooked and wanted more. I heard about
Rebellion from an enployee at a Christian Book & Music Store and had him order it for me. Now, the first time I heard this album I didn't like it much at first. It is a raw sounding recording and it is one of those albums that has to grow on you. Well it did after the 2ND and
3RD time of hearing it. It is has very strong Christian Lyrics, something that SW is well known for, howerver they're really strong here. You can also unstand what Rey Parra is singing in every song.
That is something that they had to of taken from
Petra. The song "He Died" I s a beautiful song, Rey sings it with real passion. "
Sword Of
Victory" has some good Progressive moments, as do all the songs on this album. I'm not crazy about the album cover, artwork should've been done better, of course they resently Remastored it and reissued it with new artwork on frount cover that was a plus. Like I said, not a bad start for the very first Christian Progressive
Metal band in history, not bad at all...
