This album was released in 1986 but doesn't sound dated at all...I think this is because Mox Nix plays in a straight ahead, classic heavy metal style that never goes out of style.

Side One starts off with "Fight Back"--a double bass anthem in the vein of Yngwie Malmsteen but with more melody and a catchy chorus. The songs fades and a solid drum beat takes you to "Ready or Not"--a mid tempo rocker that fans of Riot or Y and T would love. The side closes with "Never Again"-a thrasher about learning your lesson about love the first time. Mox Nix clearly has a lot of influences with singer Johnny Duff's voice rising above the pack--he sounds like a cross between David Coverdale and Sammy Hagar--not bad comparisons.

Side Two begins with "Steal the Show"--a fast paced opening set song that features a nice metal jam in the middle but closes with a fury. My favorite track on the re-released CD is "Killed or be Killed"-- a rousing anti-war speed metal classic that is timely today as when written back in '86.

The CD features bonus tracks that were written for the New York/Pyramid Studio Sessions/Alex Perialis but were never released due to Shatter Records bankruptcy--the tracks "Red Planet" and "Lightning Without Thunder" were re-recorded in Houston in 2001 with a re-united Mox Nix. Both tracks hint at what could have been a classic.

Apparently Axe Killer Records went out of business for a while and then discovered this gem in their master vault and decided to re-release theCD--a must have for people who love their metal before dropped tuning and the influence of rap.
