Brevity is the soul of wit! MIMOSIS only play five songs on I Am The Grave, but these tracks hold a lot of ideas and esprit.

The first minute of the opener Art.Kill.Frequency shows up in quite traditional style; old school Death Metal with hefty grooves and a slight Grindcore touch is the motto. After a while, the listener becomes aware of the fact that the musicians try to integrate some boosting and enriching elements. In fact, the continuous speed changes attach a certain progressive approach to the compositions and melodic lead guitars play an important role in the background. The headstrong clear voice in the vein of System Of A Down contributes an exclusive touch.
I appreciate that MIMOSIS take care of aggression, but offer some space for calm parts. Exactly these borne interplays avoid boredom. Lumbering or rhythmic accentuated elements upgrade compositions like Wish You Were Dead to ambitious works with demand. In this case, the musicians take another step further and offer a very relaxed final with hymnal melodies in the vein of Edge Of Sanity.
The experimental approach is also present during the other three songs, spanning their mood from harmonious catchiness to bulky claim. MIMOSIS try to combine punk-like attitude and highly melodic leads during the track Ashen, which sounds a little bit too unspectacular in my opinion.
Afterwards, the quasi band-hymn Mimosificated sets its focus on straightforwardness and finds its way to the listener’s ear and heart easier, because of a catchy refrain and rhythmic mosh parts. The concluding epos I Was The Grave surprises with an unwieldy build-up and anew relaxed moments as well as symphonic attachments and a bombastic choir arrangement.

MIMOSIS possess the potential and the willingness to carry a risk for daring deeds and exploits; during the five songs on I Am The Grave I can clearly feel the will for self-reliance.
