Crítica @ Demogorefest

I just recently heard of this band through a local metal radio show dj by the name of metal chris, the name sounded rather NWOBHM-ish to me. Once I listened to the first few seconds of the first track on the album, I realized I'd just found a very unique and awesome sounding band. The closest way to define Holy Grail's sound is a mixture of thrash and power metal. The thrash elements in this album are more "modern" sounding than what most thrash revivalist bands go for, and the amount of killer guitar solos in the songs are astounding. The vocals are a little bit classic rock sounding at first, but personally, I love the vocals.
Every song on this album has a catchy as hell chorus line, especially on the tracks "my last attack", "immortal man", and "riding the wind" the vocals aren't what you'd normally expect from a band that is often labeled as Thrash metal, it's more... How do I put it, "clean" sounding, as well as a more modern sound than most thrash metal bands go for. The entire album Is great, it's hard to pick out a track that is less great than the rest of the album. Overall, "Crisis in Utopia" is one of my favorite new discoveries of 2010. This band hasn't been around for long, but with such a unique sound to them, I wouldn't be surprised of they'd be headlining for big names in the future.
From start to finish, this album is just plain awesome. Check out the video for my last attack if you need proof of the greatness of this release. It's rare to come across a unique sounding thrash metal band nowadays, with most bands seemingly going back in time to preserve the future of the genre. Holy Grail doesn't have too many old school tendencies, and this album really pushes the envelope for what thrash bands should be aiming for. I look forward to seeing where this band is headed for in the future.
