Mechanical God creation is an Italian band and what most guys will rave about is that it is a female-fronted band. Nothing spectacular, even nowadays, when most people are getting used to listen to female vocals in Symphonic Metal, Heavy Metal and some Thrash Metal bands. Except Mechanical God Creation play something between Death Metal, Grindcore and Deathcore, which basically means that Lucy, the singer, offers some deep grunts which, like French Psychobolia, are more than rather convincing.

That’s the original part of this CD and probably the only thing that makes it stand out if you ask me. I find most songs on this record to lack the brutality or the madness required to play that kind of music. Every instrument plays the way it's supposed to be played but the production is a bit dull and too synthetic. I will assume that most Deathcore fans will appreciate this clean cut production but without much relief, there's nothing that makes the listener tickle to anything in particular.

In the end you find yourself with a CD that you can play quite a few times, which I did, but inevitably you’ll find yourself not paying much attention to the music. It's good but it's not great, the musicianship is fine (kudos to the bass player) but the songs don't bring out any emotions. It plays smoothly till the very end where you find yourself wondering what just went by.

I wish I could write more but I’d probably end up writing even worse things (first time I see someone giving thanks to their XBOX, haha). Decent but definitely not mind-blowing and with the myriads of bands playing out there most likely not a record to invest your money in unless you run for the biggest collection of CD with female-fronted bands.
