Recording studio in Seattle, Washington, USA, in operation from 1978 to 1986. Also known as Triangle Recording Studios and Triangle Studios. Owned by Jack Weaver and Bill Stuber.
Originally built as a grocery / produce stand ca. 1911, the building remained a little triangular retail shop until the early 1970s. At some point it went out of business and sat vacant for a few years. In 1976 the building was retrofitted as an 8-track recording studio by Jack Weaver, and with Bill Stuber it was opened as Triangle Recording.
Through the late 70s and early 80s, a ton of bands made fantastic new wave and post-punk records here — The Blackouts ‘Men In Motion‘ EP, Pell Mell’s ‘Rhyming Guitars’ EP, and The Pudz ‘Take Me To Your Leader‘ single are standouts from the Triangle Recording era. A fire destroyed the control room in 1980; it was rebuilt and reopened later that year, but Triangle Recording would shut down in 1984.
In 1986 Chris Hanzsek, partnered with Jack Endino, took over the studio and changed the name to Reciprocal Recording.
