Tucson, Arizona Death Metal band A Breath Before Surfacing has
officially parted ways with their guitarist, Jake. Here's a statement
from the band:

"So as some of you have already figured out, Jake decided to leave the
band. He's pretty much left because our upcoming tour schedule is going
to be too grueling for him and his precious job. We don't harbor too
many bad feelings towards Jake, except that ironically, his not wanting
to tour is keeping us the rest of us from touring as well.
"We regret to announce that we have to cancel our March tour which was
to start tomorrow in Vegas, but we were having enough problems trying
to get this tour to happen, and now with Jake leaving we just need to
take this time and start trying out new guitarists and get ready for
our U.S. tour that begins this May. It's unfortunate as we were all
very much looking forward to the March shows, and we want to apologize
to everyone who booked us, all the bands we were set to play with, and
all the fans that were excited to see us. We were excited to see you
guys too.
"So with that said, anyone who thinks they have what it takes to play
lead guitar in ABBS is welcome to send us a message. We are now (or
shortly will become) a full time touring band so we need someone who
wants to get out and live on the Road as much as we do. Must be a cool
person as well, talent doesn't mean shit to us if you're a douchebag.
We need someone with years and years of experience who is preferably
over 21, but not older than 25."

As previously reported, A Breath Before Surfacing recently signed to
Mediaskare Records and the band' debut full-length, titled "Death Is
Swallowed In Victory," produced by Zack Ohren (All Shall Perish), will
be available on May 27th.
