Does today's metal scene really need another band? Considering the ever-growing amount of different bands and genres, the answer would probably be no… But listening to XICON's debut album, Theogony, would surely make you change your mind. With a strong presence and personality, gripping songs, and being definitely above current trends, the band will have to catch your attention. XICON develops a very personal music but will nonetheless meet the expectations of all Clawfinger and Rammstein fans.

Theogony, their 11-songs debut album, was recorded, mixed and produced by Patrick Aeby with Dom Favez - two members as well as producers of the legendary hard rock act Krokus - that unquestionably brought this album to international standards of production and quality.

Formed of four musicians who have all been active for over a decade in various genres of music, including metal, classical music, funk and rock, XICON has arisen from the ashes of The Nightshade, their previous project – not to be confused with the Scandinavian or American homonyms. The band had reached an international reputation within the underground scene, thanks to dozens of gigs, three reviews in top French metal magazine Hard-Rock Mag, and a showcase broadcast several times on the Swiss National Television last year. That's with the strong will to bring its creativity to a brand new level, that The Nightshade was recast into XICON.
