The band started in mid 2001 under the name Bilocation, the founding members, Deathbringer (in Vocals and Bass), Galamoth (Guitar) and Talthec (Guitar), the style was undifined at that time, but this changed in mid 2002 when Deathbringer decided to do vocals only, Galamoth in the bass and Talthec on keyboards, determined to make Melodic Black Metal. Several members were part of the band, until they change the name to Vardogr, Andres Techera and Gonzalo Díaz take part on the band playing guitars in 2006 to 2008/2009.
This year Talthec decided to take a step aside to continue his career as a drawer, but he keep helping the band today as graphic artist.
Lordhyan (Diego Bayarres) joins as Guitarist in 2008, and later in 2009 Satyrian joins up on guitars along Fe(A)r (Fernando Gómez) on drums. The style of the band remains essentially Melodic Black Metal, but with influences from many genres of metal as Death, Heavy, Power, Thrash,Brutal, etc. 2010 Fe(a)r left the band to fully dedicate himself to Deep Dream band and now Duergar (Mathias Rodriguez) is in charge of the drums, also joins his sister Hime (Ana) on Violin. After a Year or so Hime decided to step aside from the band for lack of time.
In September of 2011 Satyrian decided to left the band due to some musical differences and at the beginning of 2012 Duergar also decide to left the band. In 2012, Vardogr begins with a new gutarist, Azrael (Germán Rodríguez) that in the beginning of 2013 part ways with the band to dedicate to other projects.
