It was just in the beginning of the year 2000 that Vacarme was formed by Stench (guitars) and Fred (drums). Cyril (bass) join the band a few weeks after.
The very first songs were set towards Old-School Death Metal with the goal to provoke feelings that might be worthy of bands as Death, Morbid Angel or Suffocation. As the band still hasn't found a vocalist, Cyril decide to leave the band in the end of the year 2000, replaced by Jasna. The band played long months in this formation before they found the ideal shouter in Stephan. The music got both more intense and technical. Jasna had to leave the bands due to lack of time as a medical student. A huge number of guys - one less motivated than the other - held the position of bassist or second guitarist. Endly, Mathieu joined the band as a bass player in summer 2002. Vacarme played its firsts shows with this line-up and recorded its first demo called "Feast of the Cannibal" in April 2004. Then begins a long period of promotion for this recording all over the world (France, Germany, Swiss, Poland, Finland, etc...), and lots of reviews are positive. A few weeks after the finalising of the CD, Mathieu leaves suddenly the band. Olivier (courtesy of Selenim) helped the band for a swiss show (Hellvetia days 2004) and learned all the songs in 2 weeks! After that great gig, he decided to stay in Vacarme to complet the group! And so the band get stronger and built new songs, more violent, but still Old-school Death metal. Olivier begins to sing "backing vocals" and Vacarme did a few gigs under this line-up (in Metz, Strasbourg with the famous "Soul Grinding festival" 2005, Bordeaux,...). In may 2005, the band has to stop all the rehearse for 2 months because Stench suffered from severe earsache. Then, and after longs discussions, Stephan decided to leave the band in July 2005. This decision is mainly due to absence of motivation and communications problem (language differences, Stephan is swiss). The separation took place in good terms, and after another break of 3 weeks, Vacarme write new songs. Olivier insure all the vocals part, the band is now a trio! More motivated than ever, differents projects appear, such as playing live, but the most important is the recording of the first album in the year 2006, and with this purpose, the band realize several recordings.
