Undecayed was formed in August 2008 by other death metal band 9th Plague's vocalist Tony Richter and the backbone of goth metal band Disromance, guitarist Mikael Bergman and drummer Johnny Augustsson. None of them newcomers to the scene as they all played in different death metal constellations in the early 90's (and later), plus some other metal bands.

This particular alliance was formed because of line-up problems in both 9th Plague and Disromance and with the goal to create some decent old school death metal. It also sees, for the first time in nine years, the reunion of former Gardens of Obscurity and The Darksend comrades-in-arms Richter and Bergman.

A second guitarist, Martin Langen, was added to the line-up in November 2008. By April 2009, he however relocated to Germany and was forced to leave. Bass player Christoffer Svensson was added to the line-up in July 2009.

After some months of defining (and refining) their style, Undecayed entered the studio in September 2010 to record the first demo, "The Triumph of Death". This was released in January 2011. The band is currently working at new material.
