ギャロ (THE Gallo) is a rock band from Tokyo, Japan, though most members are Hokkaido natives.
The band began as a session band called ジョジョwith東京秘密倶楽部 (Jojo with Tokyo Himitsu Club) which had its first live on November 10, 2008. Three members from THE SKULL FUCK REVOLVERS started the unit and were permanent members of the session: ジョジョ (Jojo), McCueen (in THE Gallo: Lulu), and 名無し (Nanashi or No-name; in THE Gallo: Andy), though they were joined by other guitarists and drummers as they appeared. 楓 (Kaede) (also in test-No.) became a steady member, and in the spring of 2009 they announced their start as THE Gallo. Their first official live was held on May 5, 2009.
In December 2009, デシベル-db-'s guitarist 櫻井光 (Sakurai Hikaru) officially joined the band. ルル (Lulu) left the band after the June 2, 2012 one man tour final. THE Gallo had a short period of session activity during the summer after his departure under the name 大日本黒鶏主義者連盟 (Dainippon Kokkei Shugisha Renmei) with m:a.ture's guitarist, 和城 (Wajow), on support. Wajow officially joined THE Gallo on September 7th.
Their first PV, "Muen," was released exclusively on YouTube on May 17, 2014.
Their second PV, "Musou," was released exclusively on YouTube on November 7, 2014.
Their third PV, "INCUBUS," was released exclusively on YouTube on May 14, 2015.
January 2015 saw the band's first one-man lives in Osaka and Nagoya, and THE Gallo held their first one-man at a medium-large venue – TSUTAYA O-WEST – on March 30, 2015. Their first (6-city) metropolitan one-man tour, "THE INCUBUS CIRCUS," began on August 8, 2015, and concluded with their second one-man at TSUTAYA O-WEST on September 11, 2015.
Hikaru left the band for undisclosed reasons on November 14, 2015, and Wajow took over the lead (kamite) guitar position with nob (DADA) on support. THE Gallo will play their first one-man at mid-sized venue Shinjuku Loft for Andy's birthday on December 18, 2015, and their first one-man at the larger Shinjuku BLAZE to celebrate their 7th anniversary on March 6, 2016.
